The theatre programming stands out for its diversity of tones and forms, ranging from biting satire to intimate storytelling, as well as sensitive reinterpretations of classic works. It offers a contemporary and engaged perspective on the world, where memory, identity and social issues intersect with striking impact.
In this political satire presented as a rap performance by the Montreal company L’ACTIVITÉ, Olivier Choinière bends theatrical conventions to shed light on the rise of reactionary discourse. Joyful, irreverent and fiercely current.
Stage adaptation of the acclaimed graphic novel by Samuel Cantin by the Montreal company Couronne Nord. When an actress lands a coveted role, the fragile balance of her relationship begins to unravel. Guillaume Laurin and Charlotte Aubin deliver a sharp-edged comedy about the distortions of couplehood and ego.
A fascinating incursion into the realm of memory, rooted in the childhood recollections of Robert Lepage. This solo performance by Ex Machina explores the mechanisms of remembrance, forgetting, and the ways personal history resonates within collective memory.
A group of actors living with trisomy 21 takes the stage to share their desires and frustrations through a free adaptation of a Shakespeare classic by Teatro La Plaza. A vital and deeply moving production made possible thanks to the Fondation Sandra et Alain Bouchard.
WORLD PREMIERE — A theatrical creation that brings together the personal memory of Robert Lepage and our collective memory surrounding the figure of Gaëtan Dugas, long — and wrongly — associated with the label of “patient zero” of the AIDS epidemic.
Following the funeral of his aunt, who passed away from Covid-19, Robert unexpectedly discovers the grave of Gaëtan Dugas. This chance encounter becomes the starting point of a journey between intimate memory and collective history. The dramaturgy unfolds across three timelines: the 1980s, marked by the emergence of AIDS; the year 1983, during which Robert tours across Canada with his theatre company; and finally, 2020, struck by a global pandemic that revives fears, reflexes, and stigmas. Blending documentary and fiction, the narrative retraces Gaëtan Dugas’ journey — from his adolescence in Quebec City to his life as a flight attendant for Air Canada, leading up to his death in 1984. Yet it is above all through the narrator’s perspective that the dramaturgy takes shape: a gaze that confronts personal memories with collective narratives, and the ghosts of the past with the anxieties of the present.
A work that brings different eras into dialogue, where the lucidity of the mature man intersects with the carefree spirit of youth in the 1980s and the vulnerability revealed by the contemporary pandemic. A deeply human journey through memory, stigma, and our enduring need to give a face to collective catastrophes. On stage, Robert Lepage alongside Frédérique Bradet and Natan-Maël Gray.

Le Diamant invites the public to the world premiere preview of Gaëtan by Ex Machina / Robert Lepage as part of its fundraising event. This special evening will bring together donors, artists and collaborators for a cocktail reception with dinner and a performance of the show. Funds raised will support Le Diamant’s artistic and cultural mission.
Circus unfolds in rich and contrasting worlds, ranging from spectacular large-scale productions to intimate explorations of memory, as well as moments infused with nostalgia.
Presented as part of the Réverbère festival in Québec City, and co-produced with Le Monastère.
Bringing together multiple talents from Québec City, the event is produced in artistic collaboration with Le Monastère, known for its expertise in contemporary circus cabaret production, fostering the exchange of practices and aesthetics between artists from Québec City and Montréal.
“As Le Diamant partners with Réverbère to enrich the circus component of its programming, it sends a strong signal about the place of street arts in Québec City’s cultural life,” said Québec City Mayor Bruno Marchand. “Thanks to this partnership, the festival will showcase local creativity and talent on a new scale, while continuing to offer residents and visitors artistic experiences that inspire wonder.”
Le Monastère is a creation and presentation space dedicated to contemporary circus in Montréal, presenting immersive circus cabarets since 2019.
Full details of the cabaret will be revealed when tickets go on sale for the fall cultural season in September.

In a spectacular stage design rarely seen at Le Diamant, this production by Cirque Le Roux unfolds like a film composed of successive tableaux. Carried by eight virtuoso performers, the creation blends comedy, high-level acrobatics and dance, set to music by Alexandra Stréliski.
CANADIAN PREMIERE — Inspired by her background as a trapeze artist, Shana Carroll, co-founder and artistic director of Les 7 doigts, directs a vertiginous exploration in which her childhood bedroom, tucked away in an attic, becomes a shifting space shaped by dance, circus and memory.
Fifteen years after the original creation of Attrape-moi by FLIP Fabrique, the six friends reunite at the chalet. The urge to play and the energy of childhood resurface for the duration of an unforgettable weekend. A contemporary circus work infused with poetry, virtuosity and a luminous sense of nostalgia.
Is it possible to create peace? In this poetic circus performance, five artists attempt to weave their way toward serenity. Filled with threads, knots, ropes and ribbons, this creation by CIRKUS CIRKÖR builds a magically beautiful world, carried by enigmatic music and a powerful search for meaning.
This theatrical, musical and circus-infused journey by the Québec company Advienne que pourra takes the form of a modern fable about the cycle of life. Through themes of loss and the passage of time, eight multidisciplinary artists bring forth precious childhood memories, filled with light and imagination.
Multidisciplinary arts combine inventive devices, ranging from immersive cine-comic concerts to live film creation, in forms that are as playful as they are surprising.
An exceptional sound and visual immersion by the French collective Collectif Or Normes, adapted from the dystopian science fiction graphic novel by Mathieu Bablet. This immersive cine-comic concert, driven by three musicians and narration, plunges audiences into the totalitarian space station Tianzhu. A true space electro-rock opera.
The audience witnesses the live creation of a film, led by four performers from the Québec company Théâtre de la pire espèce, who precisely manipulate delicate forms in a true choreography. The whole experience offers a singular reflection on how we perceive reality.
A moving performance blending opera and contemporary dance, inspired by the music of the legendary Leonard Cohen. The voice of renowned Canadian bass-baritone Daniel Okulitch meets a chamber music ensemble and the movement of dancer and accordionist Ted Littlemore. A production by Ne.Sans Opera & Dance.
When NSPW arrives at Le Diamant, the atmosphere shifts entirely. The crowd roars, rivalries erupt, and the audience becomes an active part of the spectacle. Now a must-see, these galas draw both devoted wrestling fans and newcomers alike for an evening where adrenaline, theatre and perfectly orchestrated chaos collide.

In 2023, the Caisse d’économie solidaire Desjardins and the Caisse Desjardins de Québec joined forces to grant $110,000 to seven downtown Québec City performance venues, including Le Diamant, in support of cultural recovery following two challenging years for the performing arts sector.
Once again, the two credit unions are committing funds to Le Diamant. A contribution of $15,000 is awarded annually for a third consecutive year. This donation supports the continuation of the Billets du cœur Desjardins initiative, with tickets distributed free of charge to community organizations in the region. This program not only promotes culture, but also makes the performing arts more accessible to less privileged audiences in Québec, an initiative aligned with Le Diamant’s mission.
