Le Diamant

The Mission

Robert Lepage

« My home town is Québec City, but the world made me grow. After having travelled all over the world for 30 years now, I felt I needed to set down my suitcases and create Le Diamant, a unique meeting place where all forms of art converge to allow the culture and innovation from here and beyond to shine. »

Robert Lepage, co-founder and artistic director of Le Diamant

The Artistic vision

Le Diamant invites audiences to create their own experience of the performing arts by encountering audacious local, national and international works. Numerous of these productions are at the intersection of disciplines and have a powerful scenic language. Influenced by the times, Le Diamant’s programming features renowned artists from here and beyond, giving Québec audiences access to high-quality works.

By focusing on new theatrical works and contemporary circus while also exploring multidisciplinary arts, lyric arts, and other popular forms, including professional wrestling, Le Diamant is carrying out its mission: helping people discover theatricality in all its forms. The work of culturally diverse artists and Indigenous artists is also included in this mission, and Le Diamant is opening its stage to the important conversations of today.
