Description

When Laura tells Henri that she has landed the lead role in Sylvain Pastrami’s new film, the fragile balance of their relationship wavers. Henri, a failed and anxious writer, becomes a monster of jealousy as his girlfriend shines under the lecherous gaze of the unbearable director and his “entourage.” Henri slips into the pathetic, and then Dr. Von Strudel piles on with her unprecedented diagnosis, the “turtle syndrome,” which will leave him deformed and suffering within two years. How can Henri measure up to Quebec cinema’s golden boy and win back Laura’s love?

Nathalie Pétrowski, Pénélope, Ici Première

Nabi-Alexandre Chartier, Culture Club, Ici Première

“Director Simon Lacroix has preserved the punk spirit [of Samuel Cantin’s comic].” “A message that remains relevant: among other things, it pokes fun at Quebec showbiz and toxic masculinity.” “A good moment of humour.”

Katerine Verebely, Tout un matin, ICI Première

“Simon Lacroix’s direction gives the text’s sharp lines a sustained rhythm, fully supported by the performers throughout.”

Revue JEU

“★★★★ 1/2” “An undeniable triumph!” “[...] Lacroix’s direction multiplies unusual, inventive, and striking transitions.” “Jokes and gags follow one another without pause, and the audience laughs so frequently that the performers sometimes have to wait for the roaring laughter to subside before continuing.” “The cast is phenomenal. Impossible to say who stands out, as the performances are uniformly breathtaking.”
