Description

In this poetic circus performance, filled with yarn, tangles, ropes and threads, the artists try to knit their way to peace. Five circus artists create a magically beautiful world of ropes and yarns. Welcome to indulge in enigmatic music, sensitive poetry and a powerful quest for meaning.

THE PURSUIT OF THE IMPOSSIBLE

Scientists believe that striving for something better is what keeps us alive. The worst-case scenario would be to achieve our goals without finding something new to pursue. Circus artists often strive to achieve the impossible. Is the pursuit of an impossibility the way to happiness? Is to strive for peace on earth, to strive for the impossible? Can the effort itself make a difference? Is it possible to make peace?

ABOUT CIRKUS CIRKÖR

Cirkus Cirkör was founded in 1995 in a context where there were very few opportunities for contemporary circus artists in Sweden. Following a 24-hour festival in Stockholm that brought together approximately 200 artists and creators, a movement formed around the idea of staying and building a new artistic scene locally.

Cirkus Cirkör is now the leading circus company in the Nordic countries. Its scope includes touring performances in Sweden and internationally, courses and educational programs for all ages, a secondary school specializing in circus arts, corporate events, and numerous collaboration projects.

Cirkus Cirkör offers a vision of how the arts can influence, develop, and transform the world. Through curiosity, humour, and boldness, the company explores the diversity and limits of circus arts. It acts as a platform where different artistic practices flourish and surprise. In collaboration with many partners, circus becomes a tool to uplift and inspire individuals.

Reviews

" An aesthetic whole, a well-composed visual poem, executed with scenic, contemplative calm."

Expressen

" Physical skill in combination with beautiful poetry creates fantastic art. "

El País

" Breakneck poetry in a homespun world. A charming and sympathetic work where the whole trumps the individual efforts – like stitches in a knitted piece. "
